| Description | Adherence to roadway construction standards and specifications, combined with a strong Quality Assurance (QA) program, ensures that the State of Florida receives the quality of workmanship it pays for.
This CBT covers what you need to know to earn your Earthwork Construction Inspection (ECI) Level 2 Qualification. As an ECI Level 2 inspector, you are responsible to ensure that the performance of the field sampling and density testing is performed in accordance with the applicable Standards and Specifications and that all test results documentation is maintained in accordance with FDOT standards and policies. The CTQP Instructor-Led course and exams have been updated since the creation of this CBT. While most information contained in this training is still correct and current, some changes and updates have been made and the exams changed to reflect the recent course changes (as was announced on the CTQP website). | Learning Objectives | The Course Learning Objectives for Earthwork Construction Inspection, Level 2 are to prepare and certify inspectors in the areas of: - Density Theory – including Proctor Tests (a soil compaction procedure); LBR tests (The Limerock Bearing Ratio test, used to evaluate limerock and other soils) and Soil Classification.
- Earthwork Record System – A detailed record-keeping system that covers coding, plotting, modifying plots, and more.
- Specifications – Reviews the FDOT standards that apply to earthwork during construction, together with the complementary Standard Index drawings.
