Description 
The QC Manager is the Contractor’s representative on a project; that is, the person who manages the Quality Control Program (QCP) for the project. Being assigned as a QC Manager for a project is a serious assignment that comes with a full range of responsibilities, from preparing QC Plans to the management and monitoring of conformance to the QC Plan.

To be an effective QC Manager, it is imperative that you understand what is expected of you and what you will be held responsible for.

This course explains the role of a Quality Control (QC) Manager within FDOT and provides the basic information you need to know to become qualified as a QC Manager.
Learning Objectives 
Lesson 1: Quality Control Manager Introduction
At the conclusion of this lesson, you should be able to: - To provide you the basic knowledge and a working understanding of the role and responsibilities of a Project QC Manager.

Lesson 2: Contractor Quality Control
At the conclusion of this lesson, you should be able to:
- Describe a Quality Assurance Procedure for Construction (QACP)
- Describe a Quality Control Plan
- Describe major Acceptance elements of a QAPC

Lesson 3: QC Manager's Role & Responsibilities
At the conclusion of this lesson, you should be able to:
- Name the QC Manager’s role and responsibilities for each phase of a project
- Explain how to number LOTs of different materials, including asphalt, concrete and earthwork
- Describe the QC Manager’s reporting requirements

Lesson 4: Process Control, Characteristics & Variability 
At the conclusion of this lesson, you should be able to:
- Define Quality Characteristics for common materials
- Describe Sources of variability
- Determine "means" and "deviations"
- Identify LOTs

Lesson 5: Statistical Concepts
At the conclusion of this lesson, you should be able to:
- Discuss quality characteristics for common materials
- Describe sources of variability
- Explain the different kinds of sampling, particularly what constitutes "random" sampling
- Define LOTs and subLOTs for different materials
- Review control charts and understand their uses

Lesson 6: Quality Control Plans
At the conclusion of this lesson, you should be able to:
- Describe the purpose and importance of the Contractor Quality Control Plan
- Describe the difference between the QC Programs and QC Plans
- Describe the QC Plan and approval process
- Describe Contractor QC Plan development components and contents

Lesson 7: Specifications
At the conclusion of this lesson, you should be able to:
- Describe the basic QC and VT testing process for Asphalt, Concrete and Earthwork
- Describe basic reporting requirements
- Explain how earthwork Resolution and Verification testing differs from that of asphalt and concrete
